Excessive friction leads to unwanted heat build-up, which disrupts the material flow and increases the risk of deposits on the rollers. This significantly shortens the service life of the forming rollers, as wear increases considerably, resulting in unplanned downtime and frequent tool changes. In addition, leakage when using emulsion poses an additional problem, as it contaminates the machine environment and the profiles and has a negative impact on subsequent work steps.
TECHNICAL SOLUTION
The UNICUT® MQLsystem enables precise, controlled lubrication of the forming rolls with minimal lubricant consumption – without water, without flooding, without residues. The metering and spray valves are controlled electrically or pneumatically, depending on the control system of the profile line. The application is carried out directly on the roll circumference, coordinated with the process rhythm.

UNICUT® MQL works with high-purity, specialised lubricants that are optimally tailored to steel forming – silicone-free, residue-free, efficient. The system is ideal for inline processes without post-cleaning, even at high cycle rates and in continuous operation.
