TASK
When bending steel tubes, high forming forces act on the workpiece and the bending tools (e.g. mandrel, bending slide, clamping jaws). Without suitable lubrication, friction, tool wear, scoring and unwanted material deformation (e.g. wrinkles or ovalisation) occur. Conventional lubricants are often difficult to dose, contaminate the machine environment and workpieces, and make post-processing more difficult.
TECHNICAL SOLUTION
The UNICUT® MQL system applies precisely measured quantities of specially developed lubricants to the critical contact surfaces – e.g. on the mandrel, the bending slides or the clamping systems. The minimal amount is applied precisely via spray nozzles or lines, either manually or automatically via the bending machine control system.
SPECIAL FEATURE
UNICUT® lubricants for bending processes are specially designed to meet the requirements of cold forming – pressure-stable, low-residue and optimised for MQL. The systems can be integrated directly into new bending machines or retrofitted to existing systems.
