When longitudinally cutting (slitting) steel, stainless steel or aluminium coils in strip slitting lines, high cutting forces act on the roll shear blades. Without targeted lubrication, this leads to increased tool wear, material build-up on the blades and a deterioration in the quality of the cut edges. Conventional manual or continuous oiling is often imprecise, inefficient or leads to excessive contamination of the machine and the material.
TECHNICAL SOLUTION
The UNICUT® MQL system offers fully automatic, precise lubrication of the roller shear blades – directly at the cutting edge, precisely tailored to the respective cutting job. The nozzles are automatically moved to the defined blade position via a positioning axis or linear unit. The position and application data are taken directly from the machine programme – without any manual settings.
SPECIAL FEATURE
The UNICUT® MQL system combines intelligent automation with minimal lubricant consumption – lubricant is only applied where it is needed, in precisely measured minimum quantities. This ensures maximum process reliability, resource efficiency and cutting quality.
