TASK

When milling slabs – especially when machining large aluminium and steel blocks – high thermal and mechanical stresses are placed on the cutting edges. Without targeted lubrication, rapid tool wear, uneven milling results and thermally induced surface damage occur. Conventional cooling or lubrication systems are often not precise enough and cause contamination of the machine and workpiece.

TECHNICAL SOLUTION

The UNICUT® MQL system enables fully automatic, precise lubrication of milling tools when processing slabs. The lubricant is fed directly to the cutting edges of the milling tools as a finely dispersed aerosol – optimally dosed, at exactly the right moment and completely residue-free.

SPECIAL FEATURE

UNICUT® offers special MQL lubricants for aluminium and steel machining with optimum viscosity and evaporation behaviour. The system can be retrofitted and fully automated, even for large heavy-duty machining centres.
